Pune: Accused arrested in theft case escapes from Hadapsar police station lock-up

Pune: An accused arrested in a theft case escaped from the lock-up. The incident came to light on Saturday afternoon.

The escaped accused has been identified as Govind alias Pintya Ghodke. The Hadapsar Police arrested him on Friday night. According to the details, an auto-rickshaw was stolen from Tukai Tekdi in Hadapsar. A case was also registered at the Hadapsar Police Station. Later, the police arrested Ghodke.

He was lodged in the lock-up of the Hadapsar Police Station. He was taken out for his fingerprints at around 1.30 pm on Saturday. He gave the cops accompanying him the slip.

Meanwhile, nakabandi operations have been clamped within the jurisdiction of the Pune Police Commissionerate. The police are searching for him at locations associated with the accused.
