Pune ACB Trap | Police Officer (ASI) of Pimpri Chinchwad police arrested red handed by ACB (Pune) for accepting bribe of Rs 5,000
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune ACB Trap | An Assistant Sub Inspector was caught red handed by ACB (Pune) unit for accepting Rs 5,000 after demanding Rs 50,000 for providing post-mortem notes of brother’s wife and other documents. The action took place at Chinchwad police station on Wednesday. The ASI has been identified as Vitthal Ambaji Shinge (57). The action taken by ACB (Pune) has created ripples in the Pimpri Chinchwad police department.
A 36-year-old man had lodged a complaint with the ACB (Pune) on Wednesday. Vitthal Shinge is stationed at the Chinchwad police station as ASI. A complaint has been lodged against the brother of the complainant. He also sought post-mortem notes and other documents from Shinge. Shinge sought a bribe of Rs 50,000 and had agreed to accept Rs 25,000 after a compromise.
Since the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, he lodged a complaint with the ACB (Pune). An inquiry by the ACB revealed that Shinge had agreed to accept Rs 25,000 from the complainant and was caught red handed by the ACB (Pune) accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000. A case has been filed against Shinge under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The action was taken under the guidance of ACB (Pune) unit SP Rajesh Bansode and Addl SP Suraj Gurav by the team of Pune unit including PI Shriram Shinde, Havaldar Pournima Saka, constable Riaz Shaikh and driver constable Pandurang Mali.
PI Shriram Shinde is investigating the case.
