Pune: 100 additional police personnel deployed in Lonavala in view of monsoon tourism

Pune / Lonavala: The Lonavala Police have planned minor traffic diversions at the hill station, particularly on weekends and public holidays. As many as 100 additional police personnel, officers and Home Guards will be deployed from the Pune Headquarters. The additional force will be available from next weekend.

The traffic diversions

*Traffic going towards Pune on Amberwadi Ganpati Mandir Road will be diverted from Indiranagar, Tungarli in front of the Narayan Dham Police Chowky onto the Mumbai-Pune National Highway

*Traffic returning from Bhushi Dam and going towards Pune will be diverted from Kailash Nagar Crematorium, Hanuman Tekdi via Kusgaon Ganpati road, Sinhgad College on Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Traffic moving towards Mumbai will be diverted from Ryewood Police Chowky via Khandala Gate No. 30 and the Railway Gate at Apollo Garage

Traffic management plan

*A control room will be set up at the Kumar Police Chowky to monitor traffic

*Commuters will be instructed through a public address system at Kumar Police Chowky, A 1 Chikki Chowk, Minoo Garage Chowk and Sahara Bridge

*One-way traffic from Bhangarwadi Indrayani Bridge to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk

*Traffic arriving at Lonavala will take the road in front of Purandare Shala (school) and vehicles going towards Bhangarwadi will pass via Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk on the main road

*No Parking on the road in front of MacDonald

Violators will be fined

Vehicles are not allowed to be parked on the roads in the Bhushi Dam area. Tourists have to park their vehicles at the designated parking lots. They have also been appealed to not park their vehicles on the roadsides in the Rajmachi Point area in such a manner causing traffic hurdles. A separate squad will keep watch on hooligans.
