Proposal of police commisionerate for Nanded will be tabled before cabinet, says Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil

Mumbai : NpNews24 Online Nanded Police | Due to the increasing population and expanding city limits, a police commissionerate is being demanded in Nanded. A proposal is pending before the state government. The issue was discussed in the meeting held today.

 

In Nanded district, there are 36 police stations and 12-14 police stations in Nanded city. This is a huge burden for a Superintendent of Police. Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil said that considering the number of police stations in the district and the city, a proposal for a separate independent police commissionerate will be tabled soon before the state cabinet.

 

Walse-Patil undertook a review of the law and order situation in Nanded district in the meeting. He received information from the officials and later addressed a press conference.

 

The probe in the builder Sanjay Biyani murder case is on the right track and the state police are competent and capable of carrying out a proper investigation, he said. “I met the Biyani family and discussed the matter with them and listened to their grievances. The investigation is on the right track and I assured them that action will be taken against the accused,” the minister said. Proper investigation is must for effective maintenance of law and order and its efficacy must improve, he added.
