Pooja Bedi’s ‘Condom Ad’ was banned in 1991, Actress shares throwback pics
Mumbai : Bollywood actress Pooja Bedi has shared some of her throwback pictures on social media, which are going viral. These pictures are of an advertisement shot by her in the year 1991, which was stuck in a lot of controversy. Pooja did this photoshoot for Kamasutra condom. Models Pooja and Mark Robinson were seen in this photoshoot and these pictures went viral on seeing them.
It was a very bold photoshoot for that era. This advertisement was banned on Doordarshan and mostly it was placed on the internet after not getting much exposure on other mediums.
Sharing these pictures, Pooja Bedi wrote, “God! Some amazing pictures were taken in my shoot by Prabudhdha Das Gupta for the Kamasutra condom in the year 1991”. He has also tagged Raymond Limited Chairman and Managing Director Gautam Singhania in her post.
Pooja Bedi had said in a conversation with the Times of India in 2011, “The way this photoshoot was done, it was very surprising and effective.”
She said, “We shot this ad in Goa. When I signed this ad, I was told that I would have to be in the shower and Mark Robinson would be sitting in the boat. I was very comfortable doing all that.”
She further said, “However when I arrived at the studio, I saw Mark was already there. I asked what he was doing in the studio? And then I came to know that in this advertisement he was shown taking a shower with me.”
“I was told that I had to use the hand shower on Mark and I was completely surprised and shocked, though I was okay with doing it.”
