Politician’s son gets threatening message that he would be shot; Youth told to pay ₹30 lakh

A fake marriage certificate was prepared and the youth was told to pay ₹30 lakh. (Pune Crime News)
A 21-year-old youth has lodged a complaint (155/23) at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. The incident has been going on since February 7. According to the information given by the police, a message was sent on WhatsApp on February 7, in which there was a fake marriage certificate issued by a gram sevak of Vadgaon, Soygaon taluka in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district which claimed that the youth had married a Muslim girl. The message stated, “We have prepared your marriage certificate. Keep ₹20 lakh in the Innova parked opposite EON IT Park at Kharadi and if you do not keep money, I will lodge a rape complaint against you.” The youth ignored the message. On February 27, he again received a message from the girl.
“If you don’t pay ₹30 lakh, then, I will lodge a rape complaint against you and you will be arrested. Keep ₹30 lakh in the Innova parked at Dirk Line Plot opposite EON IT Park or I will make the marriage certificate viral.”
On March 5, another message was sent which stated, “If you don’t’ give money, I will kill you. I have done your setting. We will shoot you and tell your father to save you.” The message also stated that he should pay ₹30 lakh.
Since he was threatened that he would be shot, he lodged a complaint at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. PI Puranik is probing the case.
