Police constable from Pune Rural Police walks into ACB net

Pune : Policenama online Pune ACB Trap | A police constable attached to the Walchand Nagar Police Station of Pune Rural Police was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for not taking preventive action and helping in the crime. The police constable has been identified as Mohan Malhari Thombre. The Pune ACB conducted this operation on Friday at the Walchand Nagar Police Station. (Pune ACB Trap)

 

A 34-year-old person complained to the Pune ACB on Friday. A complaint was filed against the complainant at the Walchand Nagar Police Station. Police Constable Mohan Thombare demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 for not taking preventive action. As the complainant did not want to pay the bribe, he registered a complaint with the Pune ACB.

 

When the Pune unit verified before a panch, it was found that a bribe of Rs 10,000 was demanded from the complainant by Mohan Thombare to not take preventive action. The team laid a trap at the Walchand Nagar police station. Mohan Thombare was caught red-handed while accepting bribe from the complainant.

 

An FIR under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been filed against Thombare at the Walchand Nagar Police Station. PI Pravin Nimbalkar of Pune Unit is conducting the further investigation.

 

The action was taken by a team of Pune Anti-Corruption Department under the guidance of SP Amol Tambe and Addl SP Suraj Gurav.
