Mayors, Standing Committee chairpersons still on PMPML board of directors, website, display screen not updated
Pune : NpNews24 Online – PMPML | A screen installed at the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) building displays photos and names of the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal (PMPML) directors. Among them are former public representatives from Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. It is almost over 45 days since the administrators have taken over the civic bodies in both the cities. Following the dissolution of these bodies, the public representatives on the PMPML have also lost their posts.
However, their names and photos as the PMPML directors can still be seen on the screen in the PMC. The public transport utility’s website is also showing their names and photos.
The civic elections have been delayed. The corporators’ tenure ended on March 14. Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar took over the charge as the Administrator at the PMC on March 15. The posts of office-bearers such as the mayor, the deputy mayor, leader of the house, etc also ended with the corporators’ tenure. The mayors and Standing Committee chairpersons from both the civic body are ex-officio directors of the PMPML. They have also lost the directors posts. Yet the PMPML website has their photos.
Moreover, a display screen installed at the ground floor at the PMC is still showing photos of the office-bearers. The photos displayed on the screen have not been updated in the past two years. This indicates that civic officials themselves care least to take a look at the screen.
