PM Narendra Modi : Lockdown may have been over, but virus is still there

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the country for the 7th time in the corona era. In the midst of the Corona virus crisis, PM Modi has so many times interacted with the countrymen, in which many big announcements have been made. Many types of speculations were also being made regarding the PM’s address today.

PM Modi said, festive season is here and people are crowding places. We must remember that lockdown might have been pulled down, but the virus is still here. We have travelled a long distance since the Janata Curfew was imposed but we still have to be vigilant.

It is noteworthy that India on Tuesday has reported less than 50,000 new cases for the first time in nearly three months. Today, a total of 46,790 new cases were reported across the country, and now, the total coronavirus cases in the country is now close to 7.6 million. As many as 587 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 1,15,197.

While speaking about statistics of coronavirus, PM Modi said, “In India, the death rate per million population is 83. On the contrary, in several countries such as the US, UK and Brazil, the number is over 600. India has been successful in saving the lives of its citizens better than more prosperous countries.” PM Modi further added, “India will soon cross the 10 crore test number, which has been a major asset in our fight against the pandemic. Our doctors, nurses and health workers have all served our massive population minutely.”

“We have to be most vigilant, this is not the time to be careless.” said PM Modi. He added, “Festive season is on in India, many people have stopped taking precautions now. This is extremely risky. If you are careless, walking out without a mask, then you are putting yourself, your family, your family’s children, the elderly in as much trouble.”

Europe, America and other countries are witnessing the hike in number of cases yet again. And at this stage, we should continue to be careful and not be careless until we get the vaccine. Trials on several versions of vaccines are going on in India as well as across the world. Some of them are at an advanced stage. The government is also making all possible efforts in advance to prepare the nation to ensure that the vaccine reaches every India as soon as possible.

At the end of his speech, PM Narendra Modi gave the wishes to netizens for the ongoing Navratri festival.
