PM Modi | PM Narendra Modi’s Pune visit cancelled due to grim Covid-19

Pune : NpNews24 Online – Prime Minister Narendra Modi was supposed to visit Pune on January 28. However, his tour has been cancelled due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has informed the district administration in this regard. (PM Modi)

 

Many development projects were to be launched by him. Modi was scheduled to grace various functions such as the inauguration of Pune metro railway, unveiling of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue on the PMC premises, inauguration of the art gallery named after the Late cartoonist RK Laxman, a function at the Symbiosis University, etc. The district administration had prepared for his Pune visit.

 

The number of Covid-19 patients is increasing rapidly in Maharashtra. The highest number of cases are reported from the State. Mumbai and Pune have the highest number of Coronavirus infections. Therefore, many restrictions have been clamped. Ban on the assembly of five or more people during the day and ban on the movement during the night, exempting only essential services, have been declared. Public rallies have also been prohibited. PM Modi’s tour has been cancelled due to the worsening Covid-19 situation. It was learnt.

 

Earlier, the Union Home Ministry had blamed the Punjab government for a security lapse during PM Modi’s tour of Punjab. His cavalcade was stuck on a flyover for over 15-20 minutes. A probe has been launched in this incident. However, the Punjab government has denied any lapse in Modi’s security.
