PM Modi addresses Water crisis in Mann Ki Baat

The on-going critical water crisis in various parts of India, PM Modi addressed the issue in this radio program Mann ki Baat.

He also expressed his feeling about the program and missing the Mann ki Baat sessions with the countryman.

 He made three requests regarding the matter in his program. His first request: Just like cleanliness drive has been given the shape of a mass movement; let’s also start a mass movement for water conservation

He made three requests in his program. The following requests are:

  • Just like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan a mass movement for water conservation should become a mass movement in India.
  • Practice traditional water conservation methods
  • People who are making significant contributions to the water conservation should share information and guide others.

Giving the example of Telangana’s Thimmaipalli, saying, “It is changing the lives of the people of the village”

Also addressing the major changes made in Rajasthan through the construction of small ponds in the field at Kabirdham. He expressed concern at the shortage of water crisis in Tamil Nadu since last month in various reservoirs following deficit rainfall.
