Pimpri: Reckless car driver hits young woman at bus stop in Wakad (Video)

Pimpri: A video clip of a reckless car driver hitting a young woman in Wakad has gone viral on social media. The accident took place in Hinjawadi to Wakad lane of the road at the bus stop near the Wakad bridge at around 4.30 pm on May 23, 2024.

The Hinjawadi Police registered a case on Wednesday (June 12) after reports appeared in the media.

The accused has been identified as Tushar Nemade. Utkarsh Sanajaysinh Pardeshi (23), a resident of Camp, hailing from Jalna, lodged a complaint at the Hinjawadi Police Station. The injured victim has been identified as Akansha Sanjaysinh Pardeshi, a resident of Camp, hailing from Jalna. A case has been registered under sections 279, 337 of the Motor Vehicles Act and sections 184, 119/177 of the IPC.

According to the police, the complainant’s sister was walking along the road on the lane from Hinjawadi to Wakad around 4.30 pm on May 23, 2024. Tushar Nemade, driving his car recklessly, hit her near the bus stop in front of Mauli Snacks stall on the road. She was injured in the incident.

Complainant Utkash Pardeshi said, “My sister Akansha received bruises in the accident. Later, we went to Mumbai. Her health is normal now and she has been advised to rest by the doctor. We have lodged a complaint and a case has been registered.”

The frightening video clip

The video clip of the accident went viral on social media on Tuesday (June 11). Akansha is seen walking along the road when the car hit her and she is tossed in the air and lands a distance away. The car then rams into a stall on the roadside.

The hit-and-run case is still fresh in people’s memory

The horrible accident took place in Wakad within the jurisdiction of the Hinjawadi Police station as the hit-and-run case in Kalyani Nagar is still fresh in the public memory. However, the police did not register a case. After the video clip was widely circulated, citizens expressed displeasure over the inaction by the police. Now, the police have registered a case.
