Another case filed against Rashmi Shukla after she gets relief from HC

Mumbai : NpNews24 Online Phone Tapping Case | The problems of former police chief of Pune Rashmi Shukla seem to be increasing. As she got a relief from Bombay HC on the case registered against her in Pune, another FIR has been filed against her. The Mumbai police have filed a case against her under the Telegraph Act.

 

Meanwhile, today, Shukla got a relief from the HC and the Pune police have been ordered not to take strict action against her till March 25. An FIR has been registered against her at the Bund Garden police station. Shukla had filed a petition in the HC and a hearing was held today.

 

Rashmi Shukla’s testimony will be recorded in the case registered against her on the phone tapping issue and further action will be taken later, the Pune police have clarified.

 

Shukla has been blamed for illegally recording conversations of ministers. Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil has also clarified that action will be taken against Shukla. Later, she secured pre-arrest protection from the HC. The phones of Congress state president Nana Patole, Minister Bachchu Kadu, Ashish Deshmukh and Sanjay Kakade were tapped for 60 days, the complaint says.

 

At present, Shukla is posted in Hyderabad on deputation.

 

A committee had been formed to probe the phone tapping issue under the leadership of then DGP Sanjay Pandey. The panel had probed the matter and submitted a report to the government. The state government had issued an order that a case should be filed against her.
