PDCC Bank: 800 vacancies will be filled on merit, says Deputy CM Ajit Pawar
Pune : NpNews24 Online – There are 800 vacancies in the Pune District Central Cooperative Bank (PDCC). Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Pune Ajit Pawar has said that the bank’s financial condition is good and the posts will be filled with competent people. He was speaking during the shifting of the bank’s branch at Korhale Budruk in Baramati taluka.
Pawar said, “The previous board of directors had recruited 200 people but 61 people left the job. If out of state candidates get jobs at the local level, they tend to leave them. Hence, by holding discussions with the cooperative minister, efforts will be made to recruit people from the district. The prices of onions have reduced. Hence, a letter has been sent to NAFED seeking permission to buy onions. However, NAFED has to take permission from the Centre. If it gets permission, onion can be purchased at a higher rate. If necessary, former agriculture minister Sharad Pawar’s advice will be sought.”
Ajit Pawar said, “To help farmers, loans up to Rs five lakh were being given at zero per cent interest. However, out of 2,41,000 farmers, only 1,200 farmers benefitted. We had to spend Rs 11 crore for a handful of people. Hence, a review of this decision will be taken to prevent injustice to other people.”
“The children of farmers go abroad to seek higher education. The bank gives them loans of Rs 25 lakh at an interest of seven per cent. We want to increase the limit to Rs 40 lakh. We are also making efforts to reduce the interest by two per cent,” he added.
