Parth Pawar | Parth Pawar again from Maval?: Shiv Sena MP Shrirang Barne may face problems

PIMPRI : Due to the change in political equations in the state, the scenario can change in Maval constituency. After Ajit Pawar has joined the government, there is speculation about Parth Pawar contesting from Maval constituency. Maval MP Shrirang Barne, who is with the Shinde group, may face problems.

The LS constituencies were redrawn in 2009. Maval LS constituency has been formed including Panvel, Karjat and Uran from Raigad district, Pimpri Chinchwad and Maval legislative constituency. The constituency consists of urban and rural parts. From Maval, Ajit Pawar’ s son Parth had contested the 2019 LS poll but he lost by 2,15,913 votes. The ticket was given to Parth Pawar despite opposition from Sharad Pawar. It is being said that Parth Pawar’s mother Sunetra Pawar is worried about her son’s future. Parth was given the ticket in 2019 because of her insistence, it is being said.

Shiv Sena’s Shrirang Barne had defeated a member of Pawar family. Ajit Pawar and Barne have been at loggerheads for many years and the intensity increased after 2019. Now, political equations have changed. Ajit Pawar has become Deputy CM in Shinde-Fadnavis government. There is a strong possibility that Ajit Pawar may become the guardian minister of Pune. Pimpri MLA Anna Bansode, Maval MLA Sunil Shelke and most of the office-bearers are with Ajit Pawar. Sunil Tatkare, who is a heavyweight from Raigad, has become the chief of the state’s party unit. Hence, the Pawar group is likely to make a claim over the seat.

Ajit Pawar feels that Parth will go to Delhi because of alliance with BJP. Ajit Pawar has close ties with Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. Hence, Fadnavis can take a positive step to ensure that Parth Pawar gets the ticket. Barne had made a claim recently that he will be the candidate from Maval constituency. Hence, the Shinde-Fadnavis-Pawar government will have a tough time deciding about the candidate from Maval constituency.
