Parrikar meets officers, reviews progress on bridge, garbage, employment

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday held meeting with the various government officers to review the work on various projects, including that of third bridge on River Mandovi.

Parrikar held meeting at his private residence near here, where he has been recuperating since his discharge from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi.

“In one of the important issue, Parrikar has asked the officers to expedite procedure to fill vacancies in various government departments. The officers have been given a deadline to execute the work,” said a senior official from CMO.

The government vacancies have not been filled for last two years and the process for employment has been kept on hold since last nine months from the time Parrikar got ill.

Parrikar also discussed about the progress on construction of third bridge on third Mandovi river near Panaji. “CM also spoke to the consultants of the bridge project,” the official said.

The Chief Minister also took stock of the situation on the front of solid waste collection in the State. “The officers of Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC) including its Managing Director Sanjith Rodrigues were called for the meeting,” he said.

Parrikar also discussed the financial aspects of all these projects and respective officers were given the instructions, he said.

The Chief Minister also discussed about certain bottlenecks in governance due to his physical absence from the officer, he said.
