On Tuesday India will be playing the first match of 2018 which will be against Hong Kong. Rohit Sharma who is captaining Indian team for the first time for an entire tournament will be facing another Indian captain Anshuman Rath.

Before the match, in an interview, he said, “ Its an honor for me to play at this level against India which is my native country, but at the end of the day we are playing against them.”

When asked about, how difficult it is to unite the Hong Kong cricket team as many teammates are from different different centuries, he said “ We play for Hong Kong and we represent this nation of which we are really proud of. We are definitely excited to play against our home countries. But we are wearing Hong Kong’s jersey and are proud of it.”

“Sometimes a thought comes in our mind whether we would have continued to play for our native if we would have been on the other side. But then that is the past. We do sometimes joke about it but we don’t really think about it now.”
