ONGC contract – Man booked for duping people of over Rs one crore

A 53-year-old man has been booked by Pune city police for allegedly duping people to the tune of over Rs one crore under pretext of helping them get contract of ONGC.

Based on complaint from Seema Rupesh Jalan (38) of Balewadi, an FIR has been registered against Rahul Parekh of Amanora Township, Hadapsar.

According to police, Parekh had got Jalan work on interior designing of his three shops including one of Paa Roti pizza, burger outlet in a mall in Hadapsar in 2016. He owed her Rs 13 lakhs for her work but gave her Rs nine lakhs only. Taking advantage of their acquaintance, he told her that he has got two contracts from ONGC for Rs three crores and Rs seven crores. He offered to make her partner in the contract asked for Rs three lakhs from her. She gave him Rs two lakhs but didn’t get any partnership in contract.

Parekh didn’t return her money and has now he is absconding. Therefore, she lodged complaint against him for duping her of Rs six lakhs. Like her, five more persons have approached police.

Police have launched a search for the accused Parekh.
