One more accused Maninder Singh arrested in Red Fort violence case

New Delhi : Police have arrested another accused Maninder Singh in the Red Fort violence case during the tractor rally that took place on 26 January in protest against the agriculture law. Police have also recovered two swords from him.

Maninder Singh is a wanted criminal in the Red Fort violence case and was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police on Tuesday near PitamPura. Two swords have been recovered from his house in Swaroop Nagar. The police are investigating the matter. Maninder works as an AC car mechanic.

Deep Sidhu, Sukhdev and Iqbal Singh have been arrested earlier in the Red Fort violence case. On Tuesday, Deepak Sidhu’s police custody was been extended for seven days. A reward of Rs 50 lakh each has already been announced on four wanted actors including actor Deep Sidhu and Jugraj Singh and four on Iqbal Singh.

During the tractor parade of farmers in the national capital on Republic Day, there was a clash between farmers and policemen. Meanwhile, some protesters reached the Red Fort carrying tractors. Some of them went inside and placed a religious flag on the ramparts of this historic building. Around 500 policemen were injured and one demonstrator was killed in the violence.

Delhi Police has registered 44 cases in the violence case on 26 January. So far 143 accused have been arrested. Seven people have been granted conditional bail by the court.
