On World Diabetes Month, an event to raise awareness is held
NpNews24 Online – World Diabetes Day | November is observed as World Diabetes Month to raise awareness of diabetes. On November 18, a Janajagruti rally and a number of other initiatives have been planned to raise public awareness of diabetes. In a press conference, Chief Convener of the Lions,District Governor(2016–17) and Head of the Maharashtra Organ Donation for Lion- Dr. Chandrahas Shetty, Co- Convener, Lion- Sham Khandelwal, Co- Convener, Lion- Sateesh Rajhans, Organising Secretary, Lion- Balvindar Singh Rana, Organising Secretary, Lion- Vitthal Kute, Sharad Pawar, Vikas Mule provided this information..
“We, Lions have been organizing various programs to create awareness about diabetes since 2004 under the slogan “Education to Protect Tomorrow,”” Shetty also stated, The 19th Lions World Diabetes Awareness and Organ Donation Program has been organized from the morning of November 18. A Mega rally to raise awareness will start at 8 a.m.between City Pride Theater,Kothrud TO Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagriha Kothrud.
Doctors, athletes, diabetics, students, prominent citizens from various fields, Lions, and others will be attending this rally.At the initiative of Wadia Hospital, Sky Clinic, Seth Tarachand Ramnath Charitable Hospital, Patit Pawan Association. various activities have been organized by Lions Club Friends and Family, Lions Club of Pune 21st Century, Patron Clubs, Participating Clubs ..
On November 18, Medical camps
for diabetes ,General medical checkups will be held at the Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium from 8 a.m. to 3pm Expert guidance on diabetes and organ donation will be provided from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. as part of the afore mentioned initiative.Misunderstandings regarding the use of insulin in diabetes,
Awareness about organ donation, and how to lead a stress-free life will also be counseled. Awards will be also given to prominent dignitaries of Maharashtra at the hands of PADMA VIBHUSHAN DR KANTILAL SANCHETI.. SO ,ALL ARE REQUESTED TO ATTEND AND PARTICIPATE IN THIS MEGA PROGRAM..
