Nigerian arrested with Cocaine worth Rs 7.02 lakhs in Salisbury Park

Sleuths from the anti-narcotics cell (ANC) of the Pune city police Crime Branch has arrested a Nigerian national for allegedly possessing cocaine worth Rs 7.02 lakhs. Police said that the accused used to sell the narcotics substance here.

The arrested accused has been identified as Anthony Maxwell alias Uguchuku Emanuel, who currently resided in Salisbury Park.

Acting on a tip-off, police caught him around 9 pm on Saturday and recovered 58.510 grams cocaine worth Rs 7.02 lakhs, digital weighing machine, mobile phone and cash Rs 29,000.

Based on a complaint from ASI Avinash Shinde of the ANC, an FIR has been registered against the accused with Swargate police station under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, commonly referred to as the NDPS Act.
