New Coronavirus strain in Singapore infecting more children, Govt. shuts Schools 

Singapore :The new variant of Corona is increasingly growing among children in Singapore. Therefore, the government here has issued orders to shut the schools immediately. It is being claimed that this variant of Corona was first found in India.

On Sunday, 38 new Corona cases were reported in Singapore. This is the largest figure of Corona here in the last 8 months. People who have been infected with corona have a higher number of children. Especially those children who go out of the house for tuition. Singapore’s Health Minister Ong Ye Kung has said that children are becoming more victims of the new variant of Corona, B.1.617. It is being said that this variant of Corona is spreading very fast.

Meanwhile, Singapore has imposed strict restrictions on people gathering and public activities after the case of Covid-19 escalated. Education Minister Lawrence Wong said that the number of people gathering in the group will be reduced from five people to two people. Channel News Asia reported that this step has been taken after reports that most of the cases of Covid-19 are related to Changi Airport, Schools and Hospitals.

Singapore’s Ministry of Health on Thursday reported 24 cases of community infection, the highest number since September. So far, more than 61,000 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country and 31 people have died.
