NCB interrogates Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash, arrest on hold till 7 November

Mumbai : The Narcotics Control Bureau questioned Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash on Wednesday. Karishma reached the NCB office at 9 am and she is being questioned for the last 7 hours. A day before, the Supreme Court granted her interim relief and stayed her arrest till 7 November. The court also asked her to appear in the NCB investigation before 7 November.

Earlier, despite being summoned twice by the Narcotics Control Bureau, she had not appeared for questioning before the investigating agency. On October 27, 1.8 grams of drugs were recovered from Karishma’s house by the NCB team. After this, Karishma was summoned by the NCB on Wednesday for questioning. NCB officials waited for her throughout the day. But she did not appear.

Very small amount of drugs has been recovered from home
Although the drugs recovered from Karishma’s house are in very small quantities, she can be arrested for this. According to NCB sources, three bottles of CBD oil have also been seized from this house of Karishma. If convicted, she could face one year of imprisonment or a fine of up to Rs 10,000, or both.

Karisma was not at home during Raid
The NCB raided Karishma’s house on Tuesday, where some amount of drugs was found. However, Karisma was not at home at the time of this action. Therefore, the NCB pasted the summons outside her house. Investigations have revealed that Karishma was in constant contact with drug peddlers. Karishma’s house on which action took place is her second home. It is being told that she keeps coming here. However, her lawyer has denied that she lives here.

NCB has also questioned Karisma two times in the past. Karisma was once questioned with Deepika Padukone.

Deepika and Karisma’s drug chat surfaced
Last month, a conversation about drugs between Deepika and Karisma was revealed. In the chat dated 28 October 2017, Deepika used the words ‘hash’ and ‘weed’. The word hash is being used for hashish and weed for marijuana.

Karishma Prakash used to work in celebrity management company Kwan. Two days ago, she resigned from this company. The company provides talent managers to over 40 Bollywood celebrities. Rhea Chakraborty’s manager Jaya Saha also works for the company. Jaya is Karishma’s senior. The team of NCB, CBI and ED has questioned Jaya several times. During the investigation, NCB came to know of the chat between Jaya and Karishma. After this, the matter reached Deepika.
