Nandurbar police launch Operation Akshata initiative to stop child marriages

NANDURBAR : NpNews24 Online  – Nandurbar Police – International Women’s Day | On the occasion of International Women’s Day, many programmes were organised in the state and the country. Operation Akshata is the brainchild of SP of Nandurbar District PR Patil and has been started to stop atrocities on women and child marriages. District Collector Manisha Khatri inaugurated the programme. Various village level officials will be mobilised to create awareness about stopping child marriages. The Nandurbar police have taken up a different initiative to protect the honour of women. Child marriages are rampant in the district dominated by adivasis but non one complains against them. Operation Akshata has been started as an initiative of SP of Nandurbar District PR Patil to prevent child marriages taking place in Nandurbar district.

 

 

Through this initiative, it will be possible to take effective steps in cases where girls and women are lost, kidnapped and sexual crimes. The main purpose of the programme is to stop each child marriage taking place in the district and create awareness at the ground level. The role of social workers, police patils, sarpanches, nurses at primary health centres and police beat personnel will be important in this programme. SP PR Patil said that with the involvement of all these personnel, child marriages can be definitely stopped.

 

Sarpanch Raju Tadvi of Korai village which has decided to stop child marriages, Gram Sevak Ganesh Vasave, Police Patil Anil Vasave and Deputy Sarpanch of Bhujgaon gram panchayat Kavita Pavra, Gram Sevak Hemant Rathod, Police Patil Deepak Pavra were felicitated with a certificate and a bouquet by the police department.

 

SP PR Patil, Addl SP Nilesh Tambe, DySP (Headquarters) Vishwas Valvi, Sub Divisional Police Officer Sachin Hire, Sub Divisional Police Officer of Akkalkuva Division Sambhaji Sawant, Addl CEO Pramod Pawar, President of Bal Kalyan Samiti Nita Desai, District Health Officer Govind Chaudhary, Women and Child Development Officer Krishna Rathod, Lions Club’s Tejal Chaudhary and police officers and policemen were present.
