Five accused arrested for trying to burn alive man in Nandurbar
Nandurbar : NpNews24 Online – The Nandurbar police have arrested five accused for trying to burn alive a senior citizen over a dispute involving a woman. The Nandurbar police arrested the accused in 12 hours by carrying out an investigation. Some of the accused had run away to other states. The incident of burning alive a senior citizen took place on March 12 at 3.30 am in Sorapada in Akkalkuwa taluka.
Bulya Handya Valvi (55), a resident of Sorapada, Akkalkuva taluka, Nandurbar district is the injured victim. The accused have been identified as Dharamdas alias Bhau Vedya Valvi (40), Ravindra Button Pawar (33), both residents of Amlifali Khapar, Akkalkuva taluka, Nakul alias Gatur Ashok Vasave (25), a resident of Amlifali Khapar, Akkalkuva taluka, Arun Shantaram Vasave (21), a resident of Chandpur, Akkalkuva taluka, Rahimoddin Jalaluddin Pinjari (48), a resident of Amlifali Khapar, Akkalkuva taluka.
According to the police, the victim was sleeping in the courtyard of his house on Saturday. At 3.30 am, two persons who had covered their face with a handkerchief, came near him. One of them threw petrol on the victim from a bottle and the second person lit a match and tried to set the victim on fire. An FIR of Attempt to Kill was registered at Akkalkuva police station and the victim was shifted to district hospital in Nandurbar.
Considering the gravity of the crime, SP PR Patil and Addl SP Vijay Pawar visited the spot. PI Ravindra Kalamkar of Local Crime Branch and PI Rajesh Shingte of Akkalkuva police station led different police teams and were directed to arrest the accused immediately.
The victim, Bulya Valvi, was initially not in a condition to speak but started speaking a little bit after initial treatment. When the LCB team asked him about the accused, he told them that one of the accused had long hair and another was tall and slim.
The police were searching for the accused based on the information they had received. They came to know that the accused were moving around in a fair at Khapar. The team went to Khapar and started looking for the accused. The police arrested the accused Dharamdas alias Bhau Vedya Valvi and Ravindra Button Pawar from a sugarcane juice centre.
Photos of both the accused were taken and shown to Bulya Valvi. The victim identified the accused. When they were grilled, they admitted to committing the crime. They told the police that they had acted on the instructions of Nakul, Rahimoddin Pinjari and Arun. The police came to know that Rahimoddin had escaped to Gujarat. Four teams of the police were sent to Gujarat to arrest him.
A police team went to Amlifali and they came to know that Nakul and Arun were hiding in Nakul’s field. The police arrested both of them. The police had arrested the four accused but the main culprit Rahimoddin was missing.
The police came to know that Rahimoddin was hiding in Narmada taluka of Gujarat. The police arrested him and when he was grilled, he gave shocking information.
Rahimoddin had an extra marital affair with a woman in Amlifali. Bulya Valvi’s son had run away with the woman 15 days ago. An angry Rahimoddin committed the crime with the help of others.
The accused have been handed over to the Akkalkuva police.
The LCB and police officials of Akkalkuva police station solved the complicated case within 12 hours. SP PR Patil congratulated the officers and policemen.
