Names of 58 wards in draft ward structure within PMC limits announced
Pune : NpNews24 Online – The draft ward structure within the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits will be officially declared on Tuesday. However, curiosity to know which ward will have which areas has heightened. During the upcoming civic polls, Ward no. 1 will be Dhanori-Vishrantwadi. The last Ward no. 58 will be Katraj-Gokulnagar. Meanwhile, a PMC draft ward structure list went viral on social media on Sunday evening.
The 23 villages merged into the PMC have 10 wards. The list on social media clearly shows that the wards of incumbent corporators, party leaders and office-bearers have remained secure.
The State Election Commission has directed the PMC to announce the draft ward structure on February 1. Objections and suggestion on the same have been invited till February 14. The final draft will be submitted to the State Election Commission on March 2.
The ward structure in Pune has become controversial. It is being discussed that pressure was put on the PMC and the State Election Commission to introduce many changes.
The link to the draft ward structure will open at midnight on February 1. Citizens will get to see the ward structure, name and its boundaries.
