Mumbai Vaccination Scam : Distilled water given instead of vaccine! 8 arrested so far; SIT formed to investigate

Mumbai : Mumbai Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the Mumbai based Hiranandani Society’s vaccination scam case. Police suspect that people have been given distilled water in the name of vaccines. So far 8 people have been arrested. The investigation so far says that the vaccine has been supplied from Shivam Hospital. In this, 2 people from the hospital have been arrested. So far, FIRs have been registered at 7 places. In the investigation so far, it has come to light that the same racket is involved in organizing all the 9 vaccination camps.

The police have not yet got any evidence regarding whether the vaccine given is fake or not. DCP Vishal Thakur is investigating the matter. 12 lakh 40 thousand have been seized from the accused and the accounts of the main accused have been sealed. The accused had received 38 bottles from Shivam Hospital. The news of the use of these vials came to the fore in fake vaccination camps set up at different places. Dr. Manisha Tripathi’s name has come up in the sale and purchase of these vials. Dr. Manisha Tripathi has applied for anticipatory bail in the court. There is a hearing on that today.

Empty vials were used at the vaccination camp

It is being said that these empty vials of vaccine were used by the team running the fake vaccination racket in the vaccination camps set up at different places including Hiranandani Society of Kandivali. The police suspect that these vaccine vials were filled with distilled water and given by injections to people. Police team suspects that people coming to these vaccination camps thought that they had taken the vaccine, but it was distilled water instead of the vaccine.

Kandivali police on Thursday arrested the owner of Shivam Hospital and his wife for helping a bogus vaccination racket. In this case, separate cases were registered in Borivali, Bangurnagar and Bhoiwada in 24 hours. In the case of bogus vaccination, FIR has been registered at 7 places so far. The owner of Shivam Hospital and his wife have been arrested by the Kandivali police. A case has been registered against this doctor couple for providing vaccination to the bogus vaccination racket.
