Mumbai Pune Expressway Accident : 3 killed as gas tanker overturns
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Mumbai Pune Expressway Accident | On the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, a propoline gas tanker overturned which led to a serious accident. Three people have died in the mishap. The traffic on both the sides of the expressway has been stopped due to the accident. The accident took place at 12 noon.
The tanker was going to Mumbai from Pune. The driver of the tanker lost control over the vehicle near the Khopoli Exit on the descent and it entered the Pune lane and turned turtle. Some cars rammed into the tanker leading to a serious mishap. The driver of the tanker has been seriously injured and he has been admitted to a hospital in Pune.
The two cars have been moved aside with the help of a crane. With the help of the Khopoli fire brigade, efforts are underway to shift the tanker from the expressway. Fortunately, there was no leakage of the gas from the tanker. Efforts are being made to lift the tanker. As a precaution, the Khopoli fire brigade vehicles are ready to spray water if necessary.
The rescue and relief efforts are being made under the supervision of Khopoli police station’s PI Shirish Pawar.
