Mumbai Police registers FIR against Sunrise Hospital, BMC orders inquiry

Mumbai : A case of culpable homicide has been registered in the fire case at Dreams Mall in Bhandup area of Mumbai. A case has been registered in the FIR against Rakesh Wadhawan, Director of Dreams Mall, Sarang Wadhawan. Mumbai Police has also registered an FIR on the operators of Hospital Sunrise. In connection with the unfortunate incident of fire at Dreams Mall in Bhandup, BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal asked Deputy Commissioner (Disaster Management) Prabhat Rahangdale to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the fire and its causes and submit a report within the next 15 days. In this fire, 11 patients have died, who were undergoing treatment at Sunrise Hospital at the time of the accident. A total of 7 people have been named in the FIR.

On this incident, Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale said that this is a very serious incident. He has spoken of the negligence of the hospital management in the accident. Commissioner Hemant Nagrale said that the police has registered a case against the mall and hospital management. On the other hand, BMC has ordered an inquiry into the incident. At the same time, Uddhav Thackeray said that strict action will be taken against those who will be found responsible for this incident.

After the statement of the Mumbai Police Commissioner, the hospital management says that the fire was on the first floor of the mall and not in the hospital. Here the bodies of 2 patients who lost their lives from Corona were kept.

This is the second major fire incident in Maharashtra in the last two days. The fire broke out in the Dream Mall in Bhandup area of Mumbai at 12 pm on Thursday. A Covid Hospital named Sunrise was running in the upper floor of this mall. The fire had spread so much that the patients who were on the ventilators in the hospital could not be saved, and 11 people died in the accident.
