Mumbai native arrested by Calangute police in a narcotics raid

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – Calangute police have arrested one Mr Reagan S/o Raymond Couto, age 21 yrs, N/o Andheri East, Mumbai during a narcotics raid conducted on 30/11/2018 near Calangute market.

PI Jivba Dalvi informed that reliable information was received regarding the accused person coming near the Calangute market along with some drugs for delivery to prospective customers.

Accordingly, a team was formed consisting of PSI Mahesh Naik and other staff including executive magistrate and further the raiding team waited at Calangute market in civil clothes. Upon seeing the accused coming at the spot the police immediately rounded him up and detained him at the spot.

During the personal search, he was found in possession of drugs which were then tested on the spot and found to be positive for charas worth Rs. 30,000/- and MDMA worth Rs. 30,000/-. Therefore all drugs were found to be totally worth Rs. 60,000/- in the international market.

The accused was brought at the police station and placed under arrest. An offence under section 20(b)(ii)(A), 22(a) of NDPS Act, 1985 has been registered.

The raid went on from 00:30 am to 03:00 am during the early morning.
