Mumbai local trains’ operation resumes from today for general public

Mumbai: The local train, called Mumbai’s lifeline, has finally started from today after a long wait for common passengers. In view of the increasing risk of corona infection, local services were closed for common passengers from March 2020. Local train services were started only for employees working in urgent services.

According to the report, from now on, commuters of the three local routes to Harbour, Central and Western can also travel by local train. However, from 7 am to 12 pm and from 4 pm to 9 pm, common passengers are not allowed to travel in local trains at peak hours. Common travelers can travel in local trains from 4 am to 7 am, 12 to 4 pm in the afternoon and 9 am to 1.15 pm at night until the last train leaves.

It is mandatory to follow corona rules while travelling in local trains. Passengers will have to put masks in the station premises and on local trains, social distancing and the Arogya Setu app will be mandatory.
