Mumbai Local : 350 Local Trains Will Run in Mumbai From Today, Only These People Will Be Allowed to Travel

Mumbai : Due to the ongoing lockdown and then Unlock 1 due to the Corona crisis, many types of services are still stopped in the country, but in the midst of all this, there is a continuous effort from Indian Railways to provide relief to the passengers. In an effort to provide this relief, the movement of 350 local trains is starting in Mumbai on Wednesday. Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal himself has tweeted this information.

The Railway Minister said in a tweet, ‘Railways will expand to 350 local trains in Mumbai from tomorrow. As identified by State govt., essential staff incl. employees of Centre, IT, GST, Customs, Postal, Nationalised Banks, MBPT, Judiciary, Defence & Raj Bhavan allowed. No services yet for general passengers.’

Rail Service Was Affected Due to Corona
Rail services were completely suspended due to the increased infection of the coronavirus although freight services of essential things continued. Passenger rail service was discontinued. Later, labor trains were started for the movement of migrant laborers and people and millions of people were transported to their destinations. At present, the Railways is operating only 230 special trains, in which the rules of social distancing are being taken care of. Not only this, many railway coaches have been converted into isolation coaches.
