Mumbai: 37-year-old BARC officer dies by suicide after an argument with wife

 Mumbai: A 37-year-old scientific officer from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) allegedly died by suicide on Friday (January 29) after he had a quarrel with his wife around 9,30 am over their children’s food, the police said.

The deceased has been identified as Anuj Tripathi (age 37). The incident took place in Akashratna building in Anu Shakti Nagar, a residential complex for BARC employees. On Friday, Tripathi had an argument with his wife over feeding their children. After the quarrel, Tripathi went to his bedroom and attempted suicide, the police said. Later, the wife knocked on the door when Tripathi did not come out for a long time. Upon getting no response, wife with the help of their neighbours broke the bedroom door.

The police further stated that Tripathi was rushed to a nearby hospital in the BARC campus, by his wife and neighbors where the doctors after checking declared him dead.
“The Trombay police have registered an accidental death report (ADR). No suicide note was found. An investigation is underway,” added the police.
