More than 250 people cheated; case filed against Vikas Bandal of Tirupati Corporation

Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | A case of fraud has come to light in Pune wherein more than 250 people have been cheated of more than Rs 20 lakh after being promised of refund of education fee and getting loan sanctioned for business.

The Sinhagad Road police have filed a case against Tirupati Corporation’s Director Vikas Raghunath Bandal (35), a resident of Narhe Ambegaon and cashier Vilas Waman Patil.

Ravindra Harishchandra Jadhav (49), a resident of Bibvewadi, has filed a complaint with the police. The incident took place between November 2020 to December 2021 in the Omkar Nandan building located on the Katraj Bypass road.

The Pimpri Chinchwad police have arrested Vikas Bandal and many of his misdeeds are coming to light.

Vikas Bandal had set up an office in Omkar Nandan building. He told Jadhav that there is a central government scheme of refund of fee and trapped him in his web. He forced Jadhav to take a franchisee by telling him that he will get a refund of fees from the government.

Jadhav paid Rs 3 lakh 85 thousand as deposit and handed over Rs 1 lakh 91 thousand 360 collected from 31 students to Bandal.

Jadhav waited for many months to get a refund of fee but he did not get anything and he was given a cheque for the return of deposit. The cheque was returned because of lack of funds in the account.

Vikas Bandal collected Rs 5 thousand 980 from 159 men and women who had paid education fee at Beti Asha Kendra totalling Rs 9 lakh 50 thousand 820.

He also took Rs 2 lakh 62 thousand 500 from 70 to 80 women by promising to get sanctioned, a loan of Rs 1 lakh for each person.

He neither ensured return of fee nor got any loan sanctioned and cheated many people of Rs 20 lakh 68 thousand 510. Bandal was absconding since the last few days. He had set up an office at Akurdi and had promised to get a refund of education fee and get aid of Rs 50 thousand sanctioned to relatives of COVID-19 victims and cheated many people.

A case had been registered at Nigdi police station. The Nigdi police had arrested Bandal at Shahapur toll naka. After his arrest, many people are approaching the police to complain that they also have been cheated by Bandal.
