Rs 13 crore property of Minister Prajakt Tanpure seized

Mumbai :  NpNews24 OnlineMoney Laundering Case | Minister of State Prajakt Tanpure was grilled by ED officials for seven hours in the Mumbai office. He was questioned on a loan given to a sugar factory in connection with the scam in the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank, auction of the sugar factory and money laundering case. Tanpure’s questioning has created a flutter in political circles.

 

The ED has given a jolt to Tanpure. The properties of Ram Ganesh Gadkari Sugar Factory owned by him have been seized. The properties include 90 acre land in Nagpur and 4 acre land in Ahmednagar. The value of the property is Rs 13 crore 41 lakh.

 

Teams of ED officials in Delhi and Mumbai had carried out raids at nine places in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Ahmednagar in connection with Unitech Group and Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank. This included action related to the auction of the Ram Ganesh Gadkari Sugar Factory which has been declared bankrupt in the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank loan case.

 

An allegation has been made that the sugar factory has been sold at a value which is less than the market price to Tanpure’s Prasad Sugar and Allied Agro Products. At that time, Tanpure’s father was a director of Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank.

 

ED officials had carried out a search of Tanpure’s office and Tanpure had been told to present himself for questioning. Tanpure went to the ED office and he was grilled for seven hours. Tanpure gave some documents to ED officials.

 

Tanpure is NCP’s MLA from Rahuri and is a minister of state in MVA government. His father Prasad Tanpure is a former MP. He is nephew of NCP’s state president Jayant Patil.
