MNS leader’s jibe at Minister Aditya Thackeray over Covid curbs

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Santosh Dhuri passed a jibe at Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray over violation of Covid restrictions in pubs in his constituency, Worli.

Dhuri, during a Facebook live, said, “Chief Minister Thackeray asks common people to strictly follow coronavirus restrictions, but pubs at Kamala Mills in Worli are open post 12 in the night, while elsewhere restaurants and pubs close at 11 pm. How is this allowed in Worli?”

Dhuri took to Facebook live from the Union Pub in the Kamala Mill compound. The video showed people violating Covid-related restrictions in the pub. The video showcased people not following social distancing and not wearing masks. Dhuri questioned Aditya Thackeray’s hold over his constituency.

He said, “Coronavirus is only for common people and not the rich. This is the situation of Aditya Thackeray’s constituency”.

Aditya Thackeray is an MLA of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Worli constituency. He is also the guardian minister of Mumbai suburban district.

In Maharashtra, the number of Covid cases coming from Mumbai and Pune are now almost equivalent to the number of cases that were coming from the entire state just three weeks ago. However, a surge has been seen in other cities like Nashik, Kalyan, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Satara, Amravati, Nagpur and Akola.
