Man cheated of Rs 12 lakh in Warje, FIR filed against three including two women

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Crime | An incident has been reported in Pune wherein, a person was cheated of Rs 12 lakh 20 thousand 300 by promising an yearly return of 40 per cent if the money is invested in investment schemes of HDFC Bank. Sarang Govind Katekar (54), a resident of 34, Viola Coop Society, Warje has filed a complaint at the Warje police station. The police have registered a case against Jyoti Girish Mendhe, Kalyani Adish Katkar and Sachin Chute, all residents of 34, Viola Cooperative Society, Warje under sections 406, 420, 468, 471, 34 of the IPC.

 

According to the police, Jyoti Mendhe told the complainant that she was an officer in the financial department in HDFC Bank. To win the trust of Sarang Katekar, she showed him an identity card having a logo of HDFC Bank. He told Katkar that he will get an annual return of 40 per cent if he invests money in the scheme of HDFC Bank. The complainant trusted Mendhe and invested Rs 12 lakh 20 thousand 300 rupees.

 

However, instead of giving return on the money, she misused the money for her own benefit and cheated Katkar financially. Katkar filed a complaint at the Warje police station after he came to know that he had been cheated. The police are investigating the case.
