Man attacked with an axe for stoning a dog in Baner
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | An incident of an axe attack on a person who threw stones at a pet dog occurred in Baner area. The Chatuhshrungi Police arrested the owner of the dog. (Pune Crime)
The arrested person has been identified as Ayub Basha Sheikh (36) from Baner. Sheikh is a criminal on the Solapur Police record. Ravi Ghorpade (40) from Baner was seriously injured in the attack. Sheikh is a labourer. Ghorpade is a painter. Both live in Shinde Mala area and know each other.
Ghorpade was passing through the Shinde Mala area around 8:30 pm on Saturday. Sheikh’s pet dog barked at Ghorpade, who threw stones at the dog. Enraged Sheikh came to Ghorpade’s house after a while asking why he stoned the dog. He hit Ghorpade with an axe in his face. Ghorpade was seriously injured. Shaikh has been arrested for attempt to murder and API Zarekar is investigating the case.
