Maharashtra Ganeshotsav 2021 | 2200 buses to be allotted in Konkan for Ganeshotsav : Transport Minister Anil Parab



Mumbai : Transport Minister Anil Parab has informed that ST Corporation has decided to release 2200 extra buses for Ganpati Utsav this year. These buses will start from September 4 at major bus stands in Mumbai, Thane and Palghar. He also said that special buses for this Ganeshotsav will be available from July 16.

Every year special ST buses are released in Konkan for Ganpati Utsav. Last year, the state government imposed restrictions on transportation in view of the growing prevalence of corona; However, this year, additional vehicles will be provided for Ganeshotsav following all the rules of Corona. Accordingly, about 2200 extra buses will run on the roads in Konkan, said Parab. These buses will run for Ganeshotsav from 4th September to 10th September 2021. The reservation for these buses will start from July 16, 2021. All buses will be sanitised before the journey and all passengers will require to wear masks during the journey.

During the Ganeshotsav, the staff will be working day and night under the supervision of senior ST officials at the bus stand to ensure smooth traffic of the ST, and vehicle repair teams will also be deployed at various places on the Konkan highway. At the same time, temporary toilets will be set up for passengers, said Parab.
