No immediate respite from cold weather in Maharashtra

East, north-east and north-west parts of the country may receive rainfall from February 2 to 4, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

 

According to the IMD, there would not be any major change in temperatures in the next 24 hours in most areas of north-west and central India. Cold weather conditions are likely to prevail for the next 24 hours in eastern Maharashtra, UP and eastern Rajasthan. Later, temperatures are likely to increase by 4-6 degrees Celsius.

 

Changes in temperature

The IMD said maximum temperature in the north-west and central part of the country may increase by 3-5 degrees Celsius till February 2. Later, it may decrease. Winds are likely to blow at 15-25 kmph for the next four days in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. There would be no major change in temperature for the next three days in the eastern parts of the country. Later, it may dip by 2-4 degrees Celsius.

 

Cold wave prevails

Cold wave conditions will continue to prevail for the next 24 hours in Punjab, Haryana, western UP and Rajasthan. Later, the cold wave will recede. Cold weather conditions may persist for the next 24 hours in eastern Maharashtra, UP and eastern Rajasthan. Temperature will gradually increase later.
