Maha govt to appoint women caretakers at Ashram schools

Pune : NPnews24 – OnlineThe Maharashtra government recently announced that 11 Ashram schools in the State will get women caretakers for the children studying in Standard 1 to 5.
“The women caretakers will cater to all the needs of the children, related to their tidiness, hygiene, medical care, diet, school, etc.

They would stay with the children at their hostels and ensure their safety. They would also act as communicators between the children and their teachers and parents,” said a GR that was circulated by the Maharthashtra government recently.

The posts have been created to see to the security of the children at the Ashram schools and also to check if the students are in good health or not.  The caretakers will get Rs 15,000 per month salary.

The minimum eligibility criteria required is Class XII passing certificate. “However, those who have pursued Montessori or nursing courses, as well as those who have an experience of six months of more of working with children would be given preference. Also, local women would be selected on priority,” the GR said.

The caretakers would not be recognised as government employees, but appointed on a contractual basis, for a period of 11 months initially, and would then be extended as necessary.
