Love gone wrong; 24-year old burns herself in Government office

In a shocking incident a 24-year-old employee attached to Maharashtra State government tried to commit suicide in government department’s public toilet and the reason coming ahead is failure in love ship.

This incident took place in Maharashtra State Board office situated in Shivajinagar police jurisdiction. Shivajinagar police is probing into the case further and process of reporting the suicide is taking place.

The injured girl has been identified as Punam akka Guddi Jadhav (24), a resident of Dattawadi area. She is undergoing a treatment in the Burnt ward of Sassoon General hospital and doctors claim she has sustained 80 per cent injuries.

According to police, “Punam is deployed as employee with Maharashtra State board in the Secondary School Certificate department (SSC) as clerk. On Friday it seemed she was upset since morning and weeping.”

They added,” post lunch break, she went to third floor ladies public toilet of department and burnt herself. Due to alert of fire Alarm all rushed out and panic was created. A peon heard a noise of screaming and immediately broke the door forcefully and found the girl burning. They rescued her and rushed her to hospital.”

“She is critical and sustained 80 per cent burn injuries. We are probing and also recovered a suicide note. While talking to few staffers and relatives it seems that her boyfriend had betrayed her and hence she tried to commit suicide due to failure in love relationship”, said the police.
