Lockdown 2.0 : Couple Owning 1 Crore’s House Ordered Free Grocery from the Control Room, Notice Issued 

Ahmedabad : Coronavirus has caused panic across the world. Thousands of people are dying every day. Talking about India, the number of corona patients has crossed 21370 here. While the death toll has reached 681. Corona is growing rapidly in India. However, a number of measures have been taken to fight Corona in the country. Meanwhile, a surprising case has emerged from Gujarat. Where a couple living in 1 crore rupees’ flat called the control room and ordered grocery.

Actually, a campaign has been run by the Gujarat government so that no man sleep hungry. The Gujarat government is distributing food grains to the homes of needy people for free. Many social institutions are also supporting this work. But there are some people who are also making inappropriate use of the government scheme. On 17 April, a couple called the control room and told that there was nothing to eat in their house. But, when the team reached the spot, they were surprised. Because they already had enough grocery in the house. Despite this, they ordered the goods from the control room with the intention of storing food for free.

Notice issued against the couple
At present, legal action has been initiated by issuing notice against the couple on the orders of District Collector KK Nirala. According to the information given by the police, on April 17, when Deepak Shah and his wife Kiran Shah, a resident of Sachin Tower, located near Shyamal cross road in Ahmedabad, called the control room, they told that they had nothing to eat. On receiving this information, the Vejalpur Tehsildar office ordered to deliver food, ration kits and food packets to his house. Inquiries by the team that arrived with food and grocery kits revealed that Kiran Shah is a retired teacher.

The flat in which they live is worth about one crore rupees. Not only this, his son is also working on a big post. The couple has also taken food grains earlier for free by the  APL-1 ration card. At present, the police has registered a case against the couple.
