Lata Mangeshkar’s health deteriorates again, put on ventilator support

She was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai after she contracted Covid-19 on January 8. Since then the nonagenarian has been in the ICU.

Team of doctors observing her health
Dr Pratit Samdani of the hospital said, “Lata Didi’s health deteriorated. Hence, she has been shifted on the ventilator support again. A team of doctors is attending to her 24×7.”
Death rumours during treatment
Rumours of her death were making rounds last week. Later, her family members requested people not to spread rumours by tweeting from her Twitter handle. Dr Pratit Samdani had given details about her health saying she was recovering from the infection and was still in the ICU. Then he wished for her quick recovery.
Lataji opened her eyes: Tope
Speaking to media persons five days before, State Health Minister had said, “I spoke to the doctors treating Lataji. She is recovering. She has fought back Covid and pneumonia. Earlier, she was on ventilator support. She is on oxygen support now. She opened her eyes and spoke to the doctors. Though she has weakness, she is recovering from the illness.”
