Maratha Kranti Morcha who is demanding reservation yesterday (August 9) took a violent turn. The co-ordinators of the Morcha, Pune in a press meet said we haven’t damaged anything, but we are still ready to compensate for all the loss which has occurred during the protest on August 9.

The Maratha Coordination Committee has announced that there will be agitation for reservation. They even added that if the government doesn’t take any decision regarding the reservation till August 15, then Maratha agitators will start ‘Chul Bandha Andolan’ (Fasting Protest). Efforts are being made to defame the Maratha reservation campaign.

We were appealing to be peaceful but those who broke the peaceful protest were not Maratha protesters. Police should take action against such youth who been recorded in the CCTV footage. But those who haven’t harmed the property near collector’s office against them cases should not be filed. We also discussed with the police about this. They also assured us that we will take back the crime against those innocent people the coordinators said.

The co-ordinators had given the time for a peaceful protest (Dharna Aandolan) in front of collector office on August 9 only between 11am to 1pm.

However, after 1pm, when the co-ordinators of Sakal Maratha Samaj left and after which the protestors where out of control and they also demolished the properties near collector office area.

Pune Maratha Co-ordinators have also appealed the Maratha youth not to post any such announcement such as Rasta Roko, Rail Roko on social media this announcement was made in a press meet organized by the committee in Pune.

Many protestors were also shouting outside collector’s office “Policena ghabaru naka, ani tyancha aiku naka” which means don’t be afraid of Police and don’t listen to them, the coordinators of Maratha Morcha have also said in press meet that strict action against such youth should be taken.
