Kolhapur ACB arrests API and police constable while accepting bribe of ₹8 lakh

The arrested police officials have been identified as API Nagesh Mhatre and police constable Rupesh Kumbhar. The incident has created a flutter in the Kolhapur police as the ACB took the action late in the night.
API Mhatre was probing a cheating case and he had sought ₹8 lakh in providing help in the matter. The complainant lodged a complaint with the ACB. After the complaint was verified, it was confirmed that the API had sought a bribe. Mhatre called police constable Rupesh Kumbhar to collect the money. The ACB team laid a trap at Juna Rajwada area and arrested both of them while accepting ₹8 lakh from the complainant.
