Jammu and Kashmir: Foreign delegation meets army & police, discussed security system

New Delhi : On the second day of the visit to Jammu and Kashmir, the foreign delegation met officials of the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Many other issues have been discussed during this period along with security arrangements in the valley. Anantnag SSP Sandeep Chaudhary informed various matters along with efforts to provide public participation, employment to diplomats. Srinagar SP Sheema Nabi spoke about the responsibility played by the police during the Covid era.

At the same time, the army informed the foreign delegation about matters such as infiltration attempts, atrocities in Baramulla in 1948, tunnelling, use of drones, number of Pakistani terrorists killed and Pakistan’s role in recruiting terrorists through social media. The army spoke of the role of security forces in surrendering terrorists. After the removal of Article 370, the army gave information about the reduction in incidents of stone pelting, peaceful DDC elections, 44 Army Goodwill schools with ten thousand students in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Earlier, after the removal of Articles 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir and the District Development Council election, the team of foreign diplomats who arrived here understood the ground reality of the change. The team reached Budgam not only inquired about the schemes being run for the development, but also learned from the newly elected Zilla Vikas Parishad president and sarpanches how they work.

The team, which has come on a two-day tour, will leave for Jammu after meeting the officers of the army and police, where they will also meet the Lieutenant Governor. The team includes diplomats from 20 European and African countries. This is the first party to visit Jammu and Kashmir after the Corona crisis began.
