Jai Shri Ram travels to Japan

Slogan of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram” were also raised at community event after PM Modi concluded his speech. The slogan of “Jai Shri Ram” has lately become a controversy with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee countering it, saying that it was “forcible enforcement on others in the name of so-called RSS”.

Lately, Mamata Banerjee also countered the “Jai Shri Ram” slogans with her slogan of “Jai Bangla” and “Jai Hind”, saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been mixing religion with politics.

In a Facebook post, Mamata Banerjee also said that the slogans “Jai Shri Ram, Jai Ramji ki, Ram naam satya hai” have religious and social connotations. “BJP is using religious slogan Jai Sri Ram as their party slogan in a misconceived manner by way of mixing religion with politics. We do not respect this forcible enforcement of political slogans on others in the name of so-called RSS which Bengal never accepted,” she said
