There are about three lakhs employees working hundreds of companies in the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi.

In a statement to member IT companies, HIA stated, “The police have indicated that there is more likelihood of a peaceful Rasta Roko (road block) agitation in various parts of the city. Inputs from other sources indicate a possibility of the agitation on a lesser scale due to the assurance given by the CM as also the likelihood of a court verdict on 15 November. However, this is unconfirmed since the splinter groups within the organization may not be on board for this.

Metrozip is not likely to operate, PMPML will shut down operations at a short notice in case there is any disturbance to their operations. Ola/ Uber likely to operate at a reduced scale. The Police have suggested the IT Park companies to declare holiday and work on any weekend, however, other options available are to call in all the employees before 9am and leave them after 5pm once all clear from the Police. Expressway may be affected at places with close proximity to the villages, hence recommended all movement on the expressway to be completed by 10 am.”

Also the companies have been assured by police of security in case disturbances outside gates. “Main gates of the companies to be kept closed with deployment of additional security in case any disturbance outside the gates. Police have assured immediate response in case this happens. We will be in constant touch with the Police authorities and other Security Professionals across the city and will keep the member companies informed in case any incident takes place in the city”, HIA further said.
