ISI-Jaish Had Planned Pulwama Terror Attack, Trained the Attackers; Revealed From NIA’s Charge Sheet

Srinagar : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has said in the charge sheet of the terrorist attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir last year that Pakistan had hatched a conspiracy behind it. Two people aware of the charge sheet said that Islamabad was behind the planning of the Pulwama attack and training the attacker. On February 14, 2019, 40 Indian soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack on a CRPF contingent in Pulwama.

The NIA is expected to file a chargesheet in the Pulwama attack later this month. It said that Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed had sent the trained terrorists to India. An official said the charge sheet stated that Pakistan used local youth Adil Ahmed Dar to launch an explosive-loaded vehicle on a CRPF convoy.

An official said on condition of anonymity, “Strong technical, documented and physical evidence reports from experts and evidence shared by the foreign agency clearly shows that the government of Pakistan was directly involved in this attack, which was aimed to create unrest in India.”

Maulana Masood Azhar, who founded Jaish-e-Mohammed in 2000 and his younger brother, Mufti Abdul Rauf Asgar, are the main accused in the NIA charge sheet. Seven Jaish terrorists have been arrested since the Pulwama attack. It includes Shakir Bashir, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Iqbal, Waiz ul Islam, Insha Jan, Tariq Ahmad Shah and Bilal Ahmad etc.

The chargesheet also includes Pakistani terrorists Mohammad Omar Farooq, Jaish’s area commander Mudassir Khan, Adil Ahmed Dar, but not as an accused as they have all been killed by security forces. Another official said that the Union Home Ministry has given the green signal to file a charge sheet against Azhar and others under the Anti-Terror Law.
